Drywall Installation
  1. Measurement and Planning:

    • Measure the walls and ceilings to determine the amount of drywall needed.
    • Plan the layout of the drywall sheets, considering factors like the placement of doors, windows, and electrical outlets.
  2. Preparing the Space:

    • Clear the area where the drywall will be installed.
    • Ensure the framing is in good condition and make any necessary repairs or adjustments.
  3. Cutting Drywall:

    • Use a utility knife to score the front side of the drywall along the measured lines.
    • Snap the drywall along the scored line and then cut through the paper backing with the utility knife.
    • Cut openings for doors, windows, and electrical outlets as needed.
  4. Hanging Drywall:

    • Start at one corner of the room and position the first sheet of drywall against the wall or ceiling, leaving a small gap at the bottom.
    • Secure the drywall to the framing with drywall screws, spaced about 12 inches apart along the studs or joists.
    • Continue hanging drywall sheets, staggering the joints between sheets to create a stronger wall.
